Selaine Saxby MP highlights the ‘The King’s Awards for Enterprise’ from the Department for Business and Trade to boost the profile of local businesses here in North Devon.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed last year to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s by recognising outstanding UK businesses. The Award programme, now in its 58th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country, with successful businesses able to use the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.

The awards celebrate the success of exciting and innovative businesses which are leading the way with pioneering products or services, delivering impressive social mobility programmes, or showing their commitment to excellent sustainable development practices.

Applications for King’s Awards for Enterprise 2025 open on His Majesty The King’s Coronation, 6th May 2024 and closes on 12 September. For more information, visit https://www.gov.uk/kings-awards-for-enterprise .

Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon said:

“I encourage local businesses to apply for this prestigious award. Applications are open until the 12th September and award recipients are able to use the Award’s Emblem for five years, on their website, products and any promotional materials. Its a great way to gain recognition for your business as well as North Devon’s business community, please do get involved!”

Driving local skills

Far too many employers are unable to recruit highly skilled staff locally. I will continue to work alongside our schools and colleges to ensure skilled training and apprenticeships are available, to drive social mobility and attainment, making North Devon a great place to work and do business.

Selaine Saxby Statement on AR6

Tuesday, 3 September, 2024
Whilst Auction Round (AR) 6 has clearly been more successful than AR5 for Floating Offshore Wind (FLOW), the Celtic Sea was again unsuccessful in today’s announcement. In fact, there was only one winner out of a possible four eligible projects, all spread across the UK.
