Benefitting from the green economy

Selaine Saxby MP was welcomed by leading dog welfare charity Dogs Trust at their centre in Ilfracombe earlier this week where she was greeted by a wagging tail reception.

Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon, hosted a drop in event at Westminster attended by the RSPCA, Battersea Dogs & Cats, Cats Protection, Dogs Trust and Four Paws UK, to promote support for the upcoming Puppy and Kitten Smuggling Bill.

Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon and Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Penrith and the Border consulted experts on the upcoming Puppy Smuggling Bill with its Second Reading on the 15th March.

Robbie Moore MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs with responsibility for Water and Rural Affairs joined MP for North Devon, Selaine Saxby to meet with local campaigners, South West Water (SWW) and the Environment Agency (EA) in Combe

“We all experienced an extremely wet end to 2023, and it seems to be continuing into 2024. It is worth noting that when it rains a lot, the combined storm overflows discharge, as that is what they are designed to do. 

Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon, has welcomed the extension of the Slurry Infrastructure Grant into North Devon.

I was disappointed to hear that the annual swim organised by the Lynseals in Lynmouth Harbour was cancelled after a CSO overflow the weekend of the event.

Let me be clear. I am disappointed by the way and timing these changes were announced and indeed many of the changes full stop.

Those that pollute the environment will face unlimited penalties under new legislation announced by the government.
