Levelling Up North Devon

My Plan for North Devon 2024 onwards:

Ensure that in levelling up North Devon, it reflects our unique mix of rural and coastal areas when developing housing and community projects.

A recap on my 2019 priorities:

I wanted to ensure that as we Levelled Up the south west was not forgotten. We have seen welcome government investment in Barnstaple High Street, the Ilfracombe Watersports Centre and the new Leisure Centre, as well as the new discharge lounge, the Coronation Suite, and the orthopaedics ward, the Jubilee Ward with new housing on the hospital site imminent and a whole new hospital being planned. Our road networks are being transformed with the Link Road nearing completion and £5 for safety improvements on the A361 in between Barnstaple and Ilfracombe. We have also seen successes with the Community Ownership Fund with £250K going to Chittlehampton Village Hall, funds to secure the future of Lynton’s public toilets and other bids in progress from several villages. Ilfracombe swimming pool has secured significant investment to boost energy efficiency and the Jubilee Hall Funds has helped Mariansleigh replace their hall kitchen there are still many more projects that would benefit from additional investment.
