Beaches in North Devon

Selaine surfing

It is important to note that less than 1% of all water pollution in North Devon is linked to sewage, the remainder is run off, with the unusually high sea temperature other algae are also thriving this summer. This detailed information is only possible because of the increased monitoring of storm overflows and water quality introduced by this Government and further measures to improve water quality in the Environment Act.

North Devon has some of the best beaches in the world and the constant misinformation posted about them by a small minority locally is concerning, but I hope the accurate, scientific, information that is available will provide reassurance for those wishing to enjoy our beautiful coastline.
